CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The No 2 women’s hockey team (3-1-0, 1-1-0 WHEA) will host Yale (0-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) Saturday afternoon and Dartmouth (0-0-0, 0-0-0 ECAC) Sunday afternoon. Both games will start at 2 p.m. at Kelley Rink.
BC beat Yale 5-0 in the teams’ last meeting on Nov. 24, 2013. Emily Field scored two goals and added an assist while Corinne Boyles stopped all 17 shots on net. The Eagles’ all-time record against the Bulldogs is 14-6-6, and BC is 5-2-3 against Yale in the last 10 meetings.
Boston College skated to a 3-3 tie against Dartmouth in the last matchup between the Eagles and the Big Green on Nov. 12, 2012. The Eagles took a 3-1 lead with goals from Melissa Bizzari, Haley Skarupa, and Emily Field, but Dartmouth scored twice in the third period to even the score. The Eagles are looking for just their fourth win against the Big Green in 27 games (3-20-3), although all three wins have come in the last ten meetings (3-5-2).
BC is coming off its first loss of the season, falling to UNH 3-1 at home. New Hampshire scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, and while Haley Skarupa scored her sixth goal of the year with four seconds remaining in the opening stanza to cut the lead in half, it wasn’t enough as the Eagles could not put the puck in the back of the net for the rest of the game.
Yale fell to McGill 3-1 in an exhibition game on Oct. 5. Lynn Kennedy scored the lone goal for the Bulldogs, a short-hander at 2:19 of the first period. Yale scrimmages Sacred Heart on Oct. 18 before facing off against the Eagles on Oct. 19.
Dartmouth has yet to compete in any games this year, but the Big Green will face off in an exhibition match against McGill on Oct. 18 before traveling to Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College on Oct. 20.
After the weekend series the Eagles will travel to Syracuse on Oct. 25, and will then have a week off before traveling to Providence on Nov. 1.
