Boston College men's soccer announced the eight members of its class of newcomers for the 2012 season, a group that includes players from California, Massachusetts, New York, Ireland and Ghana.
The Eagles added six freshmen to the roster - midfielder Jason Abbott (U-17 Irish National Team/Cork, Ireland), midfielder Derrick Boateng (South High Community School/New England Futbol Club/Worcester, Mass.), goalkeeper Alex Kapp (Iona Prep/Westchester FC/Amawalk, N.Y.), midfielder/defender Daniel Norris (Hackley School/Westchester FC/West Harrison, N.Y.), midfielder/defender Dylan Pritchard (Notre Dame HS/Real So. Cal/Los Angeles, Calif.) and midfielder/defender Zach Rockmore (Bethlehem Central/Blackwatch Premier/Albany, N.Y.).
Additionally, two transfer students - midfielder/defender Atobra Ampadu (Univ. of Hartford/The Hotchkiss School/Accra, Ghana) and defender Matt Wendelken (Marist/St. Anthony's HS/Massapequa, N.Y.) - will join the Eagles in 2012.

Capped by the Republic of Ireland at the U16 and U18 levels ... a member of the national teams in 2010 in Italy, 2011 in England and 2012 in Ireland ... played for the Springfield Ramblers of the Cork Schoolboys League ... served as team captain of the medal-winning all-league club - Cork SL - in the U-16 all-Ireland tournament in May 2011.
Atobra Ampadu, Defender/Midfielder, The Hotchkiss School, Univ. of Hartford, Accra, Ghana
Played the 2011 season at the University of Hartford ... started all 21 games for the Hawks ... registered 10 points - four goals and two assists ... attempted 40 shots, including 13 shots on goal ... scored one game-winning goal ... twice served as team captain at the Hotchkiss school during his four-year schoolboy career ... led the team to two consecutive New England titles in both 2009 and 2010 ... as a senior in 2011, helped the Bearcats to an undefeated regular season mark of 14-0-2 while leading the team to the New England semifinals ... a two-time all-state honoree (2010, 2011) ... played four years of varsity baseball at the Hotchkiss School.

Earned TopDrawerSoccer.com New England top-20 honors ... played the 2009-11 seasons as a member of the New England Futol Club ... joined FC Greater Boston Bolts Academy in July 2011 to compete at the U18 level ... twice (in 2009 and 2010) earned All-State and All-Central Massachusetts honors as a member of the South High Community School Colonels ... played and led the team in scoring in each of three seasons (2009-11) on the varsity squad; served as team captain in each season ... selected to play on the Ghanaian Youth National Team in 2008.

Played as Hackley School varsity starting center midfielder for each of the last four seasons ... plays for the FC Westchester Academy U-18 team ... traveled to Germany for training with the Eintracht Frankfurt U-19 team ... was a four-year member of the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Olympic Development Team ... has trained with youth academy teams of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League in London, at Chelsea FC (2008) and with Real Madrid and Valencia coaches in the U.S. ... invited to Canadian U-17 National Training Camp in January 2010.
Dylan Pritchard, Midfielder/Defender, Notre Dame HS, Real So Cal, Los Angeles, Calif.
Attended Notre Dame high school in Sherman Oaks, Calif. ... played for Real So Cal Soccer Club of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy at the U-15/16 and U-17/18 levels.
Zach Rockmore, Defender/Midfielder, Bethlehem HS, Black Watch Premier, Delmar, N.Y.
Three-year starter as a back or defensive midfielder at Bethlehem High School ... earned Albany Times Union All-star honors after leading the team in scoring with 15 goals as a junior in 2010 ... played for head coach Phil Ridgway ... plays club soccer for the Black Watch Premier Midlothians for coaches Steve Freeman and Ron McEachen ... helped Black Wach capture the Region 1 Northeast League Championship in 2010 ... is a 2010 Super Y Olympic Development Program National Camp selection.
Matt Wendelken, Defender, St. Anthony's HS, Marist College, Massapequa, N.Y.
Was invited to participate in the U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team training camp in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. In January 2012 ... earned MAAC All-Rookie Team honors during his freshman season in 2011 at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. ... was named an ESPN Rise Third Team All-American in January ... an All-State first-team selection as well as an All-League Performer ... served as team captain during the 2010 season and earned team MVP honors ... during all four years of his scholastic career, he was named to the Nassau/Suffolk Catholic High School All-Academic Team ... also played for the Hicksville Strikers who reached the national finals in 2009 ... The club was named state and regional champions in 2009 and 2010.
