Bourdon, Melchionda Named NEIBA All-Stars

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Senior Anthony Melchionda and sophomore Tom Bourdon of the Boston College baseball team were named to the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association's (NEIBA) All-Star First Team on Monday. The 38th Annual All-Star game is scheduled for June 4 at LeLacheur Park in Lowell, Mass at 7 p.m.

Bourdon, a centerfielder from Simsbury, Conn., led the Eagles in batting (.324), slugging percentage (.529), hits (79), RBIs (37), doubles, (18), home runs (10), total bases (129) and multiple-hit games (22). Both he and Melchionda tied for the most multiple-RBI games with eight. His 79 hits on the year tied for fourth on BC's single-season list.
Connecticut and Rhode Island led all teams with five total selections each while Northeastern followed close behind with four selections.
