Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Boston College Volleyball Head Coach Chris Campbell announced the signing of Ariana Hanley to the Class of 2016 on Friday morning in Conte Forum. Hanley is a libero/defensive specialist from Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.
"I am very pleased to be adding Ariana to our roster this fall," Campbell said. "She is a stand out libero and has experience at the highest levels of Southern California volleyball. Ball control is always the single most important factor in playing good volleyball and Ariana's skill-set will help us in that area. I look forward to having her join us."
Hanley competed for the Encinitas Wave Volleyball Club from 2008 to 2012. She also captained the San Diego Volleyball Club for two seasons. The libero led her club team to a third place finish at the Phoenix (Ariz.) Festival in 2011. Hanley earned the bronze medal at the 2007 Junior Olympics in Minneapolis, Minn. She was a honor roll student throughout her high school career at Torrey Pines.
Ariana continues the family legacy at Boston College. Her older sister, Rose Hanley '11, played volleyball for the Eagles and her father Edward graduate from The Heights in 1983.
