Men's Tennis Falls to No. 61 Dartmouth, 5-2

Weymouth, Mass. - The Boston College men's tennis team was defeated by 61st-ranked Dartmouth, 5-2, on Sunday at Weymouth Tennis Club. The Eagles (5-11) collected their points in two singles wins and took one-of-three doubles matches against the Big Green (14-1).
Senior Akash Muppidi was victorious in the No. 1 singles spot, earning a 7-6, 6-2 victory over Michael Laser. The Eagles earned their second point when sophomore Jonathan Raude defeated the Big Green's Brandon DeBot in the No. 4 spot, 0-6, 6-4, 6-4. Senior Alex Skinner fought hard against Xander Centenari in the No. 2 position, falling in a tiebreaker match that ended 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.
The 36th-nationally ranked duo Muppidi and Skinner started the Eagles off strong with an 8-3 win over 76th-ranked Dartmouth pair Laser and Alex de Chatellus. No. 2 pair sophomore Michael McGinnis and freshman Philip Nelson neared a win against the DeBot and Centenari but fell, 8-3. Junior Billy Grokenberger and freshman Matt Wagner fell in a close battle, 8-6, to Chris Ho and Michael Jacobs in the No. 3 doubles position.
The Eagles return to the court on April 6 to take on ACC opponent NC State at 2:30 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C.
