Saturday's Results - Knecht Cup
CAMDEN, N.J. - Boston College rowing turned in several strong performances on the first day of the Knecht Cup. All nine Eagle boats advanced out of their heats and semifinal races and will be appearing in final races on Sunday.
The BC Varsity Eight finished first in its heat and second in its semifinal, behind Duke, to advance to Sunday's Grand Final. The Second Varsity Eight also finished first in its heat and second in its semifinal, less than two seconds behind Drexel, earning a spot in the Grand Final.
The Novice Eight took second in both of its races on Saturday to move into Sunday's Grand Final. This freshmen boat finished behind Wisconsin in its heat and behind Drexel in its semifinal.
BC dominated in the Second Varsity Four event with its three entries advancing to the Final. The BC B boat placed first in its semifinal against UConn, Villanova, UNH and TCNJ. Both the BC A and C boats finished second in their semifinal races, behind Kansas and Army, respectively.
The Varsity Four placed second in its heat, behind only Villanova, but came in third in a tough semifinal matchup to earn a spot in the Petite Final on Sunday.
