Tampa, Fla. - The Boston College softball team was topped by Central Arkansas, 7-2, on Saturday morning at the USF Under Armour Invitational. Sophomore Amanda Horowitz struck out four batters, walked one and allowed six earned runs in 5.2 innings in the loss.

Senior Ali Lynette-Krech and junior Nicole D'Argento each drove in runs for the Eagles (10-3).

Central Arkansas took a 2-0 lead in the top of the third. Liss Avita single to left, before being advanced to third following a bunt single and ground out to third. With runners in scoring position, Meli Bryant singled up the middle to plate two runners.

The Eagles answered back with one run in the bottom half of the inning. Senior Rene Delagrammaticas led off with a triple to center and touched home on D'Argento's sac fly to center.

UCA extended their lead with four runs in the sixth, 6-1. Ash Boswell drew a two-out walk and was subbed out for Kelvo Greer. Tiffan Roby doubled to center to drive in Greer and came in to score on Nicol Beals triple to right center, 4-1. A third run crossed home when Kay Spencer doubled to left center. Madi Poteet came in to run for Spencer and was moved around on an illegal pitch and a wild pitch. Boston College plated its second run in the sixth, 6-2, when freshman Andrea Filler tripled to right and was plated by Lynette-Krech on a single to right center.

Central Arkansas added a final run in the seventh, 7-2. Kasey Britt drew a lead off walk and was pinch run for by Crisi Curl. Two outs later, Curl stole second and moved to third on an illegal pitch, before scoring on Boswell's single to left.
