Gaudreau, Milner Earn March Accolades

Boston College junior Parker Milner has earned Hockey East Player of the Month honors and forward Johnny Gaudreau has earned Hockey East Rookie of the Month recognition, according to a league announcement made on Thursday.
Milner went 8-0-0 with a 0.88 goals against average and a .971 save percentage during the month of March. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native recorded two shutouts, held opponents to two goals or fewer in all eight games and held opponents to one goal or fewer six times.
He earned NCAA Northeast Regional Most Outstanding Player honors after stopping all 53 shots faced in consecutive shutouts of Air Force (3/24) and Minnesota-Duluth (3/25).
He enters the 2012 Frozen Four in Tampa having won each of the last 17 games during which he has tallied a 1.11 goals against average and a .960 save percentage.
Milner is 27-5-0 as a starting goaltender in 2011-12. He has a 1.70 goals against average and a .935 save percentage. In 51 career starts during his three seasons, he is 40-9-1 with a 1.98 GAA and a .924 svae percentage.
The award marks the second Hockey East monthly honor for Milner. He previously earned league goaltender of the month accolades in February. In addition to NCAA Northeast Regional honors, Milner also captured Hockey East All-Tournament team accolades and is the conference's statistical champion for 2011-12, having posted a 1.84 GAA and a .978 save percentage in 27 league games.
Gaudreau, a 5-foot-8, 150-pound forward, recorded a team-high 10 points - four goals and six assists - in eight games in March. A native of Carneys Point, N.J., Gaudreau earned Hockey East playoff MVP honors after he registered seven points - three goals and four assists - in four wins. Gaudreau tallied at least one point in six of eight games and recorded multiple points three times.
Gaudreau, Milner and BC are winners of 17 straight games during which the team is averaging 3.9 goals per game and allowing an average of 1.1 goals per game against. The team has scored 17 power-play goals during the win streak and has scored six shorthanded goals during this stretch.
Boston College (31-10-1) will face Minnesota in the semifinals of the 2012 NCAA Division I Hockey Championship in Tampa, Fla., on Thursday, April 5 at 8 p.m. The game will be televised by ESPN2.
