Igoe, Walker Named to Canadian Tour Roster

BALTIMORE, Md. - Graduate student Kristin Igoe and BC associate head coach Acacia Walkerhave been named to the 24-player U.S. Women's National Senior Team roster for the North American Challenge Cup that will be held in Oshawa, Canada from July 13-15, according to an announcement made on Thursday.
The pair of Eagles was selected from the 38-player 2011-12 U.S. Senior Team that competed at the Stars & Stripes Weekend in October and the Champion Challenge in January. Just two weeks after competing on the Canadian Tour, Igoe and Walker will return to the States and tryout for the 2012-13 National Senior Team, from which the 18-player 2013 FIL World Cup roster will be chosen.
Igoe, a BC captain, enters the 2012 season on the heels of a successful 2011 campaign. The Framingham, Mass., native joined Boston College's prestigious 100 Point Club and currently ranks sixth all-time in career goals and points at BC. In addition to earning several other distinctions in 2011, she became the Eagles' first-ever IWLCA First-Team All-American, as well as the school's first ACC All-Tournament Team selection.
Walker enters her second season as the Eagles' associate head coach. The Annapolis, Md. native has several years experience with the national team, having won a gold medal in 2009 as part of the U.S. World Cup squad.
