BC Fencing Gives Valiant Effort at Fencing Beanpot

The BC women's fencing team went 2-1 with wins over MIT and Brandeis while the men's side finished 1-2 with a win over MIT Tuesday at Harvard at the fifth annual fencing Beanpot.
The women's team got strong performances from the epee (7-2) and foil (6-3) squads in a 17-10 win over MIT and received commendable showings from the epee (7-2) and sabre (7-2) squads in an 18-9 win over Brandeis.
The men's side triumphed in each weapon in a 19-9 victory over MIT with foil going 7-2, epee finishing 6-3, and sabre ending the match at 5-4. The men's epee squad also scored a 6-3 win in a 15-12 loss to Brandeis.
Head coach Syd Fadner and the Eagles return to action on Feb. 25 at Vassar College for the New England Collegiate Championships.
