Boston College beat Northeastern, 7-1, in the first round of the Beanpot tournament on Monday, Feb. 3, 2012 and will face Boston University, which beat Harvard, 3-1, in first-round action, for the 60th Beanpot title on Monday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m.
Following Monday's Beanpot victory over the Huskies, BC earned a 6-1 win over Hockey East opponent Vermont at Gutterson Fieldhouse in Burlington, Vt. The victories marked win Nos. 897 and 898 for head coach Jerry York. York enters Monday's Beanpot championship two wins shy of joining Ron Mason as the only two coaches in college hockey history to reach 900 career victories.
