No. 7 WIH Takes on Providence Wednesday Night

Game Notes 11-7 
Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The No. 7 women's hockey team (3-3-1, 2-2-1 WHEA) play host to the Providence College Friars (6-3-1, 4-0-0 WHEA) on Wednesday night at Kelley Rink. The Eagles are coming off a two game set with BU last week that saw them take three out of four points including a 5-5 tie in their last outing on Saturday.
Alex Carpenter and Blake Bolden continued their torrid play with three point games in the tie against the Terriers. Carpenter (Athletic Republic Co-Player of the Week) and Bolden (WHEA Defender of the Week) were honored by the Hockey East for their performances over the past two games. Carpenter is in the midst of a five game point streak dating back to Oct. 21 and has registered six goals and six assists in that span.
Kate Leary (2), Blake Bolden (1,2), Alex Carpenter (6), and Lexi Bender (1) all tallied goals for the Eagles on Saturday as BC vaulted over Northeastern into No. 7 in the latest USCHO.com poll.
The Eagles and Friars meet for the first time since Providence's 6-2 victory at Kelley Rink last February. Ashley Cottrell has three goals and an assist in the win for the Friars.
This season, the Friars are led by senior forward Nicole Anderson (6-4-10) and freshman defenseman Lexi Slattery (1-5-6) whom just was honored as Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week. Freshman goaltender Sarah Bryant has been strong between the pipes for the Friars recording a 5-1-1 record, 2.13 GAA and .900 save percentage in seven games played.
The Eagles will have the weekend off before traveling up to Dartmouth on Monday night to face the Big Green in Hanover, N.H.
Notes: Providence leads the all-time series 33-15-3 ... the road team has won 13 of the last 16 games between the teams ... Carpenter now has 12 points in her last five games (6g, 6a) ... Blake Bolden had a career high 13 shots on goal in Saturday's 5-5 tie with BU ... BC's power play (26.7%) and penalty kill (85.2%) both rank second in the Hockey East behind Northeastern.
