CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Merrimack freshman Connor Toomey tied the score on his second goal of the game with 1:10 left in regulation and sixth-ranked Merrimack finished with a 2-2 tie against fourth-ranked Boston College before 7,114 fans at Kelley Rink.
After host Boston College scored the first two goals of the contest, Toomey got the Warriors on the scoreboard at 7:08 of the second period. He netted the equalizer while skating with an extra attacker late in the third period.
After a scoreless first frame, BC senior alternate captain Paul Careyopened the scoring - his seventh of the season - 47 seconds into the middle stanza.
Junior forward Steven Whitney doubled the home team's lead 4:37 later, netting a shorthanded score after he received a nifty feed from senior Barry Almeidaand broke in alone on Merrimack senior goaltender Joe Cannata (21 saves).
BC freshman goaltender Brian Billettstopped 22 shots in 64:48. He is 3-2-1, while Cannata is 10-4-4.
Merrimack outshot Boston College by a narrow 24-23 margin, including a 6-1 edge in the third period of play.
BC junior defenseman Brian Dumoulinregistered two assists on the afternoon.

Game Notes: The tie marked Boston College's first of the season and first since Feb. 18 against Northeastern (7-7) last winter ... Today's tie extended a 25-game home unbeaten streak against Merrimack. BC last lost to the Warriors inside Conte Forum on Oct. 31, 1997. Since, BC is 22-0-3 against Merrimack at Kelley Rink.
