Women's Basketball To Play At Wake Forest

Winston-Salem, NC - Boston College is coming off a 38-35 loss to ACC opponent Virginia Tech at Conte Forum on Thursday, Jan. 5. The Eagles were led by freshman Joy Caracciolo with eight points and five rebounds. BC's center Katie Zenevitch missed the second half due to an injury.
BC vs. Wake Forest
BC will take on Wake Forest at Lawrence Joel Memorial Coliseum on Sunday, Jan. 8 at 2 p.m. The series is tied at 3-3.
The Eagles have lost the last three games against the Decs. The last time BC earned a win was in the 2007-08 season in a 60-58 game at Conte Forum.
Last season, Wake Forest defeated BC, 76-71, despite 17 points and 12 rebounds from Carolyn Swords and 18 points from Stefanie Murphy. The Decs were led by five players in double-fi gures including 21 points from Sandra Garcia. BC shot a season-low 30 percent from the field.
LAST TIME OUT
• Boston College lost to Virginia Tech, 38-35, at Conte Forum. The Eagles are now 5-9 on the season and 0-1 in the ACC.
• Freshman Joy Caracciolo led BC with eight points and six boards. Shayra Brown had seven points while Kristen Doherty had five points and eight rebounds.
• BC was without Katie Zenevitch in the second half. The sophomore center played 12 minutes and had four points. She was injured in the first half in a scrum for a rebound.
• BC shot 28.9 percent from the floor, while Virginia Tech shot 34 percent.
• The Eagles won the battle of the boards, 40-27 but had 22 turnovers.
• The 35 points scored was the lowest point total BC scored since the 1995 season. BC lost to UConn, 86-34 in Storrs, Ct. The last time BC scored 35 points was a 48-35 loss to Villanova in the 1997-1998 season.
• The 13 field goals made by BC were the lowest scored this season by the Eagles. BC's field goal percentage (28.9 percent) was also a season low. The Eagles were also uncharacteristically inconsistent at the foul line as they hit 7-of-12 shots (58.3 percent).

• Boston College is averaging 58.9 points per game, while giving up 61.2 points per game.
• Sophomore center Katie Zenevitch notched two consecutive double-doubles. Zenevitch had 13 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Hampton on Dec. 22. She followed that performance up with an 18 point, 11 rebound effort against St. Joe's on Dec. 29.
• Sophomore Tiffany Ruffin had eight assists in the win over CCSU on Monday, Jan. 2. It was a career-high for Ruffin. Her previous high was six against three different teams in her freshman campaign.
• Junior Alyssa Fressle contributed seven points and five rebounds off the bench in the win over CCSU. It was the third time this season she has had five or more rebounds in a game.
• Boston College is currently shooting 76.3 percent from the foul line, which leads the ACC.
• BC has had eight different starting lineups this season. The most consistent lineup has been the lineup of Kerri Shields, Kristen Doherty, Katie Zenevitch, Shayra Brown and Tiffany Ruffin.
• The Eagles are 4-2 when leading at the half.

• BC is 1-2 in the last three games. The Eagles defeated CCSU but lost to St. Joe's and ACC foe Virginia Tech.
