WTF Wins Five Events, Post 11 Qualifers at BU Multi-Team Meet

BOSTON - The Boston College women's track and field team posted 81 team points behind five wins, five ECAC and six New England qualifying marks in Thursday night's BU Multi-Team Meet. Senior Jillian King led the Eagles with victories in mile (4:44.37) and half mile (2:12.58), earning seven points in each event.
Graduate Hope Krause also posted an ECAC mark in the mile, taking third in 4:45.00, while senior Heather Garcia ran a 4:48.76 for fifth place and a New England qualifier.
Junior Erin McKenna took second behind King in the half mile, running a New England mark of 2:14.99 for second place and five points.
The 1,000-meter contest was claimed by freshman Kathy O'Keefe in 2:55.54, an ECAC qualifier, followed by sophomore Alanna Poretta in second at 2:58.64. Poretta and Garcia's (3:00.42) times were regional qualifying times.
BC's final win on the track came in the 4x400-meter relay, as Claire Bingham, Rory Cellucci, Elissa Horton and McKenna combined to defeat the field in 4:00.03.
Sophomore Taylor Aizenstadt and freshman Kristen McDonagh shared the high jump crown, clearing 1.65m (5.5-0 ft.) after entering at the same height.
By taking third with an ECAC qualifier of 9:53.5 in the 3,000-meter run, junior Elizabeth O'Brien established a personal record and earned four points for BC. Junior Moira Kenny added two tallies by shattering her PR with a 10:19.4 clip, taking fifth place in the race.
In her first meet back from injury, senior Kelsey Huckins scored five points for the Eagles. The 2010 All-ACC member landed marks of 15.81m (51-10.5 ft.) for fourth place in the weight toss and 12.48m (40-11.50 ft.) for fifth place in the shot put
Freshman Kim McDonagh contributed three points by sealing fourth place in the long jump with a distance of 5.06m (16-7.25 ft.).
Sophomore Margaret O'Dea posted three points. Two came behind a fifth place finish in the 60-meter dash (7.94), before adding another in the 200-meter sprint after taking sixth in 25.84.
Senior Casey Hsiung and Bingham added one point each with sixth place finishes. Hsiung ran a 8.08 in the 60-meter contest, while Bingham posted a 59.45 in the quarter mile.
The Eagles will be off until competing in the Boston Indoor Games and the BU Terrier Classic on Friday and Saturday of next weekend.
