Carpenter's Quest: Day 8 - Day Off

Last night we had a great 7-0 win against Sweden. It was another great team effort and our goalies recorded their second straight shutout of the tournament. Haley Skarupa put together another three-goal effort and Annie Pankowski added 2 more goals to help us put the Swede's away. For myself, it was a fun game to play in, because I have many friends on Team Sweden from playing with them over the summer.
Because of last night's win, coach Lindstad let us a sleep in until 10:45, the greatest gift ever! All we had today was an hour practice and a half hour stretching session. After both of those commitments we were allowed to go out with our parents for dinner.
Those of us who did not have parents all joined families for the night (a special thanks goes out to the Skarupa's for putting up with me tonight!) We went to this very nice Italian restaurant in Zlín along with a few other people from the team and their families. It was just nice to get away from the hotel food for the night. After we ate at the restaurant we all made a McDonald's run to get food for later that night, and almost half our team was in there. Looks like everyone is missing American food!
Tomorrow we are back at it again at 7 p.m. CET against the Czech's. It will be exciting to take on the home team and play in front of a giant crowd!
Thanks for reading!
