Muppidi Earns Entry into All-American Championship

Senior Akash Muppidi earned a direct entry into the 2011 D’Novo/ITA Men’s All-American Championship, held in Tulsa, Okla., at the beginning of October.

The event will kick off on October 1 and run until the ninth. This is the second time Muppidi will be competing in the event. Last fall, he fell in the first round, 7-5, 6-4, to No. 23 Pedro Zerbini of 14^th-ranked California.

The senior, who is currently ranked 86^th in the pre-season Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) rankings, is a two-time All-ACC selection, earning the first all-conference honors for Boston College. In 2009, he earned ITA Northeast Region Freshman of the Year honors.
