The Boston College women's basketball team will get an early start on the 2011-12 season. The Eagles started practice on Monday, August 1 in preparation for a 10-day overseas trip starting on August 11. The Eagles will arrive in Amsterdam on August 12 and return to Boston on the 20th.
BC will play four games while travelling from Amsterdam, Belgium and ending up in Paris, France.
The Eagles arrive on the 11th of August and will play two games in the EuroJam. BC will battle the Dutch Sr. National Team on Saturday, August 13 and again on Sunday, August 14. For more information on the Eurojam series go to http://eurojam2011.com/. BC's third game will be played in Bruges, Belgium. The Eagles will play the Blue Cats Ieper, A Belgium Division 1 team.
The final game on the Eagles overseas tour will be against an Elite "all-star" team. The French Pro A & Pro B athletes are in training camp preparing for their seasons. They will produce an "all-star" team from their training camp to play us in our final game in Paris, France.
Between games the Eagles will do some sightseeing. While in Amsterdam the team will visit Ann Frank's House and tour the city of Bruges in Belgium.
In France, the players, coaches and staff will visit the Arc de Triomphe, the Opera House and the garden of the Tuileries. The team will also tour the Louvre Museum as well as take an hour long cruise along the River Siene and visit the Eiffel Tower.
