Kristin Igoe, Brittany Wilton Named All-Americans

Chestnut Hill, MA - In a year of many firsts for the Boston College women's lacrosse team, Kristin Igoe and Brittany Wilton added to the accomplishments. On Monday, Igoe and Wilton were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-American Teams. Igoe was named to the first team, while Wilton made the third team.
The IWLCA named three teams and 51 athletes. It marks the first time Boston College has ever had two student-athletes on the team in the same year.
Igoe, a native of Framingham, is the first in the Boston College program to be named to the IWLCA first team. The red-shirt senior was recently named to the IWLCA All-Region first team. Igoe, an All-ACC selection, led the Eagles to their first NCAA appearance this past season. She led the Eagles in scoring with 44 goals, 18 assists for 62 total points. She also ranked first on the team in caused turnovers with 33, second in groundballs (33) and draw controls (30).
Igoe had five goals as Boston College defeated Virginia Tech in the first round of the ACC Tournament on April 21 and became the Eagles' first-ever ACC All-Tournament team selection. The win also was the first in the ACC Tournament for the program.
Wilton, a native of Garden City, New York, made the IWLCA All-Region team for the first time this season. Wilton was also a first time All-ACC selection. The junior was second on the team in scoring with 42 goals and 16 assists for 58 points. She led the team in draw controls (99) which placed her third nationally in that category. In the ACC Tournament win over Virginia Tech on April 21, Wilton had three goals.
