Chestnut Hill, MA- Women's lacrosse senior Kristin Igoe was named a 2011 All-American by WomensLax.com. Igoe is one of 25 players named to the team, from 16 different universities, with ten players coming from the ACC.
Igoe is the first Eagle to be named a first team All-American for the lacrosse program, with Lauren Costello earning a second team nod last season and Christine Curley earning third team honors in 1994.
The Framingham, Mass. native led the Eagles this season in goals (44), points (62) and caused turnovers (33). She finished the season with 18 assists and picked up 33 ground balls, placing her second on the team this season.
Led by Igoe's offense, the Eagles tied their highest seed in the ACC tournament, earning the No. 4 spot. For the first time in program history, BC advanced to the semi-finals of the ACC tournament with a first-round victory over Virginia Tech. The Eagles also received their first NCAA tournament bid this season, earning the right to play No. 2 Northwestern. Igoe also earned All-ACC Team honors, and was named to the ACC All-Tournament Team.
