Track Heads To NCAA East Regional

Chestnut Hill - Boston College track and field members Caitlin Bailey, Caroline King and Jillian King have qualified for the NCAA East Preliminary in Bloomington, Ind. Bailey and C. King will represent the Maroon and Gold in the 800 meters, while J. King will contest for the 1,500-meter title from Thursday, May 26 to Saturday, May 28.

Earlier this season, C. King's registered the nation's fastest 800-meter clip at the Stanford Invitational. However, she earned the second best qualifying time when she won the ACC Championship title in 2:04.88 on a rainy day in Durham, N.C. King's mark ranks second on BC's all-time half mile list.
Bailey is a three-time All-East Region Team member. At the 2010 regional, Bailey ran the only sub-2:04 half mile in Boston College history to set the program record at 2:03.45 and move on to nationals. The Oakville, Ontario native enters the meet with the sixth fastest qualifying time of the year (2:05.14).
J. King ran her way into the 1,500-meter field of 48 with a 4:22.46 at the UMass Invitational. The time is the fifth swiftest in program history and positions her at No. 22 heading into the qualifying stage.
