King Name A Penn Relay Athlete of the Meet

Philadelphia – Caroline King was named the College Women’s Athlete of the Meet for Relay Events at the 117th Annual Penn Relay Carnival on Sunday. The Scotia, N.Y. native anchored the College Women’s 4x1500 Championship of America with the fastest split of the event (4:12.2) to overtake Villanova and Georgetown down the final stretch to win the event in 17:25.19.
To win the first-ever women’s title for BC at the historic event, the Eagles team of Caitlin Bailey, Jillian King, Siobhan Breagy and King used a school record of 17:25.19 to defeat two-time defending champion Tennessee, the Hoyas and the Wildcats, who had both finished as the runner-up over the previous two years.

This was the ninth title for Boston College at Penn Relays.
