Chestnut Hill, MA- The No. 14/16 Boston College lacrosse team fell to No.3/4 Duke on Saturday, 14-11, in their final ACC regular season game of the season. With the loss, the Eagles drop to 8-5 overall and 1-4 in ACC play, while Duke improves to 10-2 overall and 3-1 in the conference.
The Eagles received another strong offensive performance from senior Hannah Alley who led the Eagles in scoring with three goals. Junior Brittany Wilton, freshman Moira Barry and junior Sam Taylor each had two goals for BC.
Boston College got on the board first, jumping out to an early 2-0 lead. The Blue Devils would respond however, taking an 8-4 lead at the half. A Boston College goal by Alley with 27:18 left in the game cut Duke's lead to two, before Duke rattled off three straight goals. With 3:13 left to play, Barry scored to give Duke a one point advantage, but that would be as close as BC would get as Duke scored twice in the final two minutes to win by a score of 14-11.
Saturday's game also marked Senior Day for the Eagles as seniors Jill Rekart, Sheila Serafino, Jill Amo, and Hannah Alley were all honored prior to the game.
Boston College will play its last home game of the season when they host Boston University, Wednesday April 13 at 4:00 p.m.
