Football Holds Second Spring Intrasquad Scrimmage

Chestnut Hill, MA - Sophomore Mike Marscovetra completed 6-of-11 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown pass in the Eagles second instrasquad scrimmage on Saturday afternoon.
Marscovetra was not the only quarterback to shine in the Eagles new air attack. Junior Dave Shinskie completed 6-of-9 passes for 42 yards and a touchdown, while sophomore Josh Bordner was 15-of-21 for 119 yards. Sophomore Chase Rettig competed 10-of-20 for 106 yards.
Freshman Bobby Swigert led the receiving corps with eight catches for 109 yards, while junior Donte Elliott had four catches for 51 yards. Freshman Jarrett Darmstatter five catches for 37 yards and a touchdown. Junior Hampton Hughes had the catch of the day on a 49-yard pass from Marscovetra.
All-America linebacker Luke Kuechly led the defense with 12 tackles, followed closely by sophomore linebacker Kevin Pierre-Louis, who had eight tackles.
Sophomore Jim Noel had a sack as did C.J. Jones, Max Halloway and Kasim Edebali.
The annual Jay McGillis Memorial Spring game is scheduled for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, April 16. Admission is free.
