BC races for Inaugural Irving-Christensen Cup

WORCESTER, Mass. - Boston College rowing raced five boats in four events against UConn and host Holy Cross on Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, April 17th. The Varsity Four from BC won their event with a great sprint, which opened their gap ahead of UConn B and moved them ahead of UConn A by .8 seconds. The Varsity Eight had a strong race and a great sprint, but they were unable to close the gap on Holy Cross who won the race and took home the inaugural Irving-Christensen Cup. BC finished second while UConn finished four seconds behind the Eagles to take third. BC entered two boats in the Freshman/Novice Event. The BC Freshman Eight (listed as BC A) and 3V Eight (listed as BC B) battled the entire way down the course and finished 2nd and 3rd behind Holy Cross and ahead of UConn. The Second Varsity Eight rowed a strong race, but were unable to catch UConn and Holy Cross.
