King Runs Third Fastest Mile Time in BC History

NEW YORK - With a trip to the NCAA Indoor Championship on the line, junior Jillian King was clocked at 4:41.93 to set a personal record and deliver the third-fastest mile in Boston College women's track and field history on Sunday, March 6.
King took seventh against of field of regional rivals. With the mark, the Scotia, N.Y. native was able to surpass former BC three-time All-American Shannon Smith's time of 4:41.98 set back in 2001.
Senior Madeline Wallace also contested against the field of 22, crossing in 4:51.58 for 14th place.
The NCAA Selection show takes place Monday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
