Three Hockey Players Honored By Conference On Wednesday

Three Boston College men's hockey players - defenseman Brian Dumoulin, goaltender John Muse and forward Bill Arnold - each earned league honors on Wednesday.
Dumoulin, a 6-foot-4, 210-pound sophomore, captured Best Defensive Defenseman honors. Muse, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound senior, was crowned the league's goaltending champion with a 1.84 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in conference play, and Arnold, a 6-foot, 215-pound freshman, earned Hockey East All-Rookie Team honors.
Dumoulin has recorded 30 points - two goals and 28 assists - in 34 games in 2010-11. He missed two games while competing with the U.S. National team at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo, N.Y. Dumoulin led all league defensemen with 23 points - two goals and 21 assists - in 27 conference contests.
The Biddeford, Maine, resident ranks tied for sixth among all defensemen in college hockey in points per game and is 14th among all players in assists per game. Dumoulin is the first Boston College defenseman to capture the award since Peter Harrold (2006).
Muse enters the semifinal round of the league tournament at 25-5-1 with a 2.04 goals against average and a .927 save percentage. He led all league goaltenders with an 18-4-1 record, a 1.84 goals against average and a .933 save percentage in conference play.
The East Falmouth, Mass., resident lead all goalies in college hockey in win percentage (.823) and ranks fourth in save percentage and seventh in goals against average.
Arnold has recorded 19 points - 10 goals and nine assists - in 36 games this winter. He tallied 15 points - eight goals and seven assists - in 27 league games.
The Needham, Mass., resident scored his first collegiate goal (and point) in a 3-2 win at Vermont on Nov. 12. He enters the semifinal round of the Hockey East Tournament with one power-play goal and two shorthanded goals.
Boston College (28-7-1, 20-6-1 HEA), the regular-season champion and top seed for the 27th Hockey East Tournament Championship, will face No. 6 seed Northeastern (14-15-8, 10-10-7 HEA) in semifinal competition on Friday, March 18 at TD Garden. Face off is scheduled for 5 p.m.
No. 2 seed New Hampshire and No. 4 seed Merrimack will follow in semifinal competition. Friday's semifinals can be seen live on NESN.
The winners of each semifinal will meet on Saturday, March 19 at 7 p.m. in the Hockey East Championship game, which will be broadcast live on NESNplus.
