Melissa Bizzari Named Hockey East Rookie of the Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Freshman Melissa Bizzari netted both of BC's goals in 2-1 win at New Hampshire on Sunday, February 20 to win this week's Hockey East Pure Ambitions Rookie of the Week Award.

This is Bizzari's first Hockey East award.

The Stow, Vt. native netted the Eagles' first goal unassisted in the opening frame, earning the Eagles an early 1-0 lead. Bizzari tallied her second and final goal in the third period off a pass from Mary Restuccia.

The rookie forward has amassed 18 points this season, with nine goals and nine assists. She is second on the team in rookie scoring and seventh in Hockey East.

The Eagles ended their regular season 20-6-6, 13-4-4 in Hockey East to earn a second-place seeding in the tournament. BC was granted a bye week and will play in the semifinals next weekend, March 5-6 at BU's Walter Brown Arena.
