Manchester, Mass. - The ninth-seeded Boston College men's tennis team fell, 5-2, to the seventh-seeded Dartmouth Big Green in its second round matchup of the ECAC Division I Men's Indoor Tennis Championship on Feb. 19.
The Eagles (4-5, 0-1 ACC) were bettered in two of the doubles meetings to start the match at a one-point disadvantage. Senior Adam Davison and Erik Kreutzer won their second match of the tournament, 8-6, on No. 3 doubles, but losses on courts one, 8-6, and two, 8-5, gave the point to the Big Green (4-2, 0-0 Ivy).
Kreutzer emerged on top at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-2, to conclude the tournament with an unblemished singles record as well.
BC's second point of the afternoon came with junior Akash Muppidi's, 6-3, 6-4, victory in the number one slot over. Muppidi also won both his singles matches of the tournament.
In their next match, the Eagles will return to conference play on Feb. 23 against Maryland at the Weymouth Club in Weymouth, Mass. at 5 p.m.
