Cross Country Selected as USTFCCCA All-Academic Team

The Boston College women’s cross country team was selected as a 2010 United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division I All-Academic team for collectively carrying a cumulative GPA of 3.42 between 27 student-athletes.
“This a great honor for our team,” Head Coach Randy Thomas stated. “Everyone associated with our program is extremely dedicated to excelling as a both a student and an athlete. Being recognized for our academics on a national stage really exemplifies what a great group of individuals we have here at Boston College.”
To qualify for the award, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five student-athletes at their respective regional championship. Each team member using a year of eligibility is calculated into the team total.
This year, 192 institutions across 30 conferences received the accolade, while only 25 of the 31 teams that participated at the 2010 NCAA Cross Country Championship were recognized. The ACC was represented by Boston College and nine other schools, third most in the country.
