Long Island, NY - Boston College senior Annie Haeger won her third Conference Championship in Women's Singlehanded competition this past weekend on Long Island, New York. She was dominant, winning by over 20 points against a talented field which included the defending National Champion from Yale, Claire Dennis. With the win of the New England Championship, Haeger qualified for the Women's Singlehanded Nationals in Chicago in November.
Haeger, a native of Illinois, took home the NEISA Women's Rookie of the Year honors in the 2009 season. She followed up her phenomenal freshman year campaign with back-to-back NEISA Women's Sailor of the Year honors as a sophomore and junior. In 2011, Haeger not only won Sailor of the Year honors in the NEISA conference, but was also awarded the national title of ICSA Women's College Sailor of the Year. During her career, Haeger has been a three-time Women's All-American and a Coed All-American. Haeger will look to win her third Women's Singlehanded National Championship this November in Chicago while trying to redeem her second place finish last year.
