Providence Tops Women's Ice Hockey, 3-1

Providence, RI - The Boston College women's hockey team dropped a game to No. 9 Providence, 3-1, on Friday at Schneider Arena. The No. 7 Eagles are now 14-5-4 and 8-3-2 in Hockey East, while Providence improved to 16-8-1 and 7-5-1.
Providence junior goalkeeper stole the show as Genevieve Lacasse stopped a season-high 52 shots.
Boston College took a 1-0 lead when Kelli Stack scored at 12:24 in the second period. It was Stack's 24th goal of the season. Just six minutes later Providence scored on a power play. It was
Providence took the lead just 25 seconds into the third period when Rebecca Morse beat BC goalie Molly Schaus (28 saves). Providence scored again at 19:31 in the game for the win.
The Eagles had a number of chances to tie the game in the third period. BC fired 33 shots at the goal in the final stanza.
Boston College will have another shot at Providence as the Eagles will host the rematch on January 28 at Conte Forum (2 p.m.).
