Men's Basketball Drops 72-71 Nailbiter to Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Junior Reggie Jackson scored a game-high 22 points to lead four Boston College players in double figures in a 72-71 ACC loss to Miami before 6,107 fans in the BankUnited Center.
The game, which was decided in the final minute, featured 12 ties and 14 lead changes.
Miami held a 68-64 lead, before Jackson hit a three-pointer with 36.0 seconds to play to bring the Eagles within one point. The host Hurricanes turned the ball over on their next possession, but the Eagles failed to score when a Jackson drive was blocked by Miami.
Miami sank two free throws with 8.8 seconds left to take a 70-67 advantage. The Hurricanes fouled Jackson on the Eagles' next possession to take away the three-point chance. Jackson sank the first free throw with 4.1 seconds to play, before intentionally missed the second. Miami grabbed the rebound and sank two free throws with 3.3 seconds left to gain a four-point cushion and secure the victory.
Jackson hit a trey at the buzzer to account for the final score.
BC held its largest lead of the game on a Josh Southern lay-in with 8:17 left that gave the visitors a 60-55 advantage. Miami answered with seven straight points to take a two-point lead.
A three-point from senior Corey Raji gave BC its final lead at 63-62 with 4:50 to play. A Miami field goal, and then a BC free throw (from Jackson), made the score 64-64. The Hurricanes then converted a trey and one free throw to take a four-point lead with 49.3 seconds left.
Miami took its biggest lead of the night at 29-23 with 7:53 remaining in the first half. BC trailed 36-35 at the intermission.
