Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College volleyball program received a National Letter of Intent (NLI) from Orange Lutheran High School and TCA Southern California Club sensation Courtney Castle.
"Courtney is a standout player who will join us after completing stellar careers at one of the top high schools and top club programs in California," BC Head Coach Chris Campbell stated. "She is a very physical outside hitter who brings great power, ball control, and desire to the court. I look forward to incorporating her into our program."
Hailing from Orange, Calif., Castle is a highly decorated three-year starter at outside hitter for the Lancers. She has also received numerous accolades as an honor roll student and ongoing volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
As a senior captain at Orange Lutheran, Castle was named to the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-American Watch List, All-Orange County First-Team, Trinity League MVP and a PrepVolleyball Senior Ace. Throughout her career, Castle has won two Trinity League championships and six area tournaments and been voted Best Defensive Player by her peers on two occasions.
With TCA SoCal, Castle is a two-time Junior Olympian - 2009 silver medalist - and winner of the Reno and Colorado Crossroads qualifiers. In 2009, she led TCA SoCal to the final national ranking of No. 3 by PrepVolleyball before being named captain of the Global Challenge Team.
