Men's Soccer Selected No. 12 In National Soccer Coaches Association of America Preseason Poll

Boston College men's soccer has been ranked No. 12 in the preseason poll conducted by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, announced on Tuesday, Aug. 10.
The Eagles checked in at No. 12 after concluding the 2009 season ranked No. 15.
Head coach Ed Kelly returns 12 lettermen, including two All-ACC second-team honorees in midfielder Karl Reddick and goalkeeper Justin Luthy, from last year's team to the 2010 squad. He welcomes nine newcomers.
All totaled, six Atlantic Coast Conference teams were ranked in the preseason poll: Virginia (2), Wake Forest (3), North Carolina (4), Maryland (6) and Duke (11).
The Eagles will host two exhibitions during preseason training camp - Colgate on Monday, Aug. 23 and Providence on Friday, Aug. 27 - before opening the 2010 regular-season schedule against Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 4 p.m. at the Newton Campus Field.
BC will open its ACC schedule on Friday, Sept. 10 at home against Maryland.
In 2009, the Eagles finished 14-9-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. BC advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament. It advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA Tournament after a first-round home victory over Dartmouth and second-round road win over No. 14 St. John's.
