Madison, Wisconsin - The Boston College sailing team earned two second place finishes at the National Championships being held this past week at Lake Mendota in Wisconsin. In the final competition of the week, Boston College made sure to come home with a National Championship as the EAgles earned their first Coed National Championship today in Madison, Wisconsin.
The Eagles finished fifth in 2009 and second in the 2008.
The Eagles finished the week in Wisconsin with two second place finishes - women's and team sailing - along with the National Title in the coed category.
Boston College was also awarded the Fowle Trophy Team of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Boston College earned 127 points in the win as the with 88 points in the A Division and 39 in the B Division. Harvard was second with 132 points, while Brown had 142 points.
St. Mary's also earned 142 points and finished fourth and Georgetown rounded out the Top 5 with 143 points.
Sailing for Boston College's A Division boat was junior Tyler Sinks, freshman Laura McKenna, junior Briana Provancha and junior Lucy Wallace. The B Division sailors for Boston College were junior Taylor Canfield and senior Sandra Williams.
The seniors class at Boston College will leave the Heights with a four national titles - -

2008 Women's National Championship
BC became only the sixth school to win all three spring championships. The other schools include Navy, ODU, St. Mary's, Tufts and Harvard.
