MADISON, WI - The Boston College Women's Sailing Team has taken second at the 2010 ICSA Women's National Championships, sailed at the University of Wisconsin.
Today's final day of racing saw very limited action, with extremely light winds.
Despite the conditions, the Eagles attacked the regatta leaders, College of Charleston, during the pre-start of the very first race. The agreesive plan was working, as BC was able to reduce Charleston's 35-point first day lead to 25 in just two races.
With sixteen races planned on the day, the chances of a comeback seemed to be improving. T he wind, however, did not cooperate and those first two races were the only races completed on the day. College of Charleston went on to win the regatta with BC second, 22 points ahead of Old Dominion University and the rest of the 18-team field.
Sailing for the Eagles were sophomores Annie Haeger and crews Emily Massa & senior Sandy Williams in A-division and junior Emily Maxwell and crew Katy Nastro, a junior, in B-division.
