Muppidi And Nolan Honored By Intercollegiate Tennis Association

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The Boston College men's tennis team had two of its players honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association for their outstanding work and dedication in the 2010 season.
Sophomore Akash Muppidi and senior Thomas Nolan were included in the list of 2010 ITA Regional Award winners for NCAA Division I tennis.
Muppidi received the ITA Player to Watch Award in the Northeast Region. This award goes to a player who has an outstanding season and is expected to perform at a high level the rest of his or her career. This award's criteria also includes a player's sportsmanship and character.
The Trumbull, Connecticut native went 19-5 this season in singles play, and finished with a 7-4 singles record in the highly competitive ACC.
Muppidi also took home the 2009 ITA Rookie of the Year Award for the Northeast Region.
Nolan received the Farnsworth/ITA Senior Player of the Year award in the Northeast Region. This award goes to a player who has exhibited outstanding sportsmanship and leadership as well as excelling on the tennis court.
He went 14-8 playing at the number one singles spot for the Eagles this season.
