Women's Track Wins New England Outdoor Championships

The Boston College women's track team put on one of its best performances all season this weekend to show once again that it is the dominant force for women's track in New England by winning the New England Outdoor Track Championships at the Northeastern Track Complex in Dedham, Mass.
The Eagles won the event by racking up 102 points. New Hampshire came in second place with 93 points, and UMass Amherst rounded out the top three with 60 points.
Sophomore Kelsey Huckins started the first place finishes off for the Eagles taking home the win in the discus throw with a toss of 49.13m. The 49.13m toss is the second best throw in BC history in the discus throw.
Junior Caroline King kept the wins coming by crossing the line first in the 1500m run with a time of 4:20.91. King's blazing time of 4:20.91 put her in second place for the fastest 1500m result in Boston College history.
The Eagles took the top three positions in the 1500m run. King won the event, senior Caitlin Bailey came in second place with a time of 4:21.53 and freshman Jillian King came in third crossing the line at 4:24.34.
The last first place finish on the afternoon came from Elizabeth Hynes in the 5000m run as she crossed the line with a time of 17:07.73.
Boston College will now get ready to run in the ECAC Championships which will be held on the campus of Princeton University in New Jersey. The meet starts on Thursday, May 13.
