Rowing Earns Three First Place Finishes

The Varsity 8 took command of their race early and never looked back. The Eagles - coxswain Gina Perri, stroke, Liz Lobkowicz, bow Meg Carmody and teammates Erin Flaherty, Stephanie Seitz, Amy Feinberg, Laura Petty, Tori Greco and Erin Roche - steadily moved out in the first 1,000 meters and held their margin in the third 500.
Both the Varsity 4 and second Varsity 4 had come from behind wins. Both had significant margins to make up on UConn.
The BC Varsity 4+ team - coxswain Marlene O'Hara, stroke: India DuBois, 3 - Colleen Devlin, 2 - Raychel Kruper and bow Rachel Pettis - finished at 7:56 for a first place finish. The Eagles defeated UConn (8:04.3) and Holy Cross (8:29.8).
The third victory of the day came from the Eagles Second Varsity 4+, led by coxswain: Jasmine Howard.. Her teammates were stroke: Brooke Sharpton, 3: Sarah Loiselle, 2: Kristin Albright and bow: Leisa Zimbrick. The Eagles placed first with a time of 8:20.51.
The second Varsity 8+ placed third (7:32) behind UConn and Holy Cross. The team of coxswain Brigid Morrissey, stroke: Kelly Williams, 7: Morgan Forester, 6: Emily Ryan, 5: Emily Charnowski, 4: Victoria Von Rinteln, 3: Regina Hayburn, 2: Roseanne Burns, bow: Chenny Zhang - led the BC second Varsity 8.
The freshman Novice 8+ placed third at 8:08 behind eventual winner Uconn and second place finisher Holy Cross. The BC team was led by coxswain: Ally Chase, stroke: Sarah Loiselle, 7: Brooke Sharpton, 6: Courtney Alpaugh, 5: Kristin Albright, 4: Leisa Zimbrick, 3: Victoria Goetz, 2: Erica Jennings and bow: Nicole Li.
