Women's Track Excel In The Classroom

The Boston College women's track team had two of its members honored for their work in the classroom this afternoon as the 2010 All-ACC Academic Women's Indoor Track and Field Team was announced by the league office.
Senior Caitlin Bailey, who is a biology major, made the team the second time in her career, while graduate student Mallory Champa, who is a theology major, is a first time honoree.
Candidates for scholar-athlete of the year must have earned a 3.0 grade-point-average in each of the last two semesters, while maintaining a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Selections for the All-ACC Academic team must have earned a 3.0 GPA during the fall semester and for their careers, with selection based on athletic merit.
Bailey, Champa, and the rest of the Eagles are set to compete in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships starting on April 15 at Clemson University.
