Boston College Celebrates 2010 NCAA Hockey Title

Boston College celebrated its 2010 national hockey championship with a parade and celebration on the Thomas P. "Tip" O'Neill plaza on Monday, April 12.
The Eagles boarded five trolleys outside Conte Forum. Led by BC's marching band and cheerleaders, the parade went a reverse route through lower campus to Commonwealth Avenue before taking a left onto Linden Lane to O'Neill Plaza for the ceremony.
Each of the program's four national championships were acknowledged chronologically and represented on Monday.
Giles Threadgold '51 was present to represent the 1949 team that captured BC's first national championship with a 4-3 win over Dartmouth in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Jeff Giuliano '02, Brett Peterson '04, Justin Dzaima '04, Tim Kelleher '03 each were in attendance to represent the 2001 national championship team that defeated North Dakota 3-2 in overtime in Albany, N.Y.
Pat Gannon '08, Matt Greene '08, Kyle Kucharski '09 and manager Kenneth Ryan '09 each were in attendance to represent the 2008 team that captured the school's third national championship with a 4-1 win over Notre Dame in Denver, Colo.
In addition to the unveiling of a 2010 national championship banner that will be raised to the Kelley Rink rafters next fall, Boston College showed its thanks and appreciation by retiring the jersey of its former player and current coach, Jerry York.
