Women's Track Finishes In 12th Place At ECAC Championships

Boston, Mass. - The Boston College women's track team finished in 12th place at the ECAC Championships this weekend at the Reggie Lewis Track Center.
The University of Connecticut won the meet with 84.5 points. Seton Hall finished with 65 points which was good enough for second place, and George Mason came in third place with 45 points.
The Eagles had six top-ten finishes for the meet to give them 20 points which was good enough for 12th place at the Championships.
Senior Gretchen Andrus started the Eagles top-ten finishes with a 10th place finish in the one mile run with a time of 5:20.80.
Freshman Grace Rodriguez continues to have a solid rookie season as she finished eighth in the 1000m run with a time of 2:33.30.
Graduate Student Mallory Champa crossed the line at 9:40.39 which was good enough for fifth place in the 3000m, while senior Lauren Johnston finished ninth in the 3000m with a time of 9:47.47.
The biggest top-ten finish of the day for the Eagles was also a new school record. The team of Caroline King, Caitlin Bailey, Jillian King and Anna Cioffredi won the distance medley relay at a school-record best 11:05.69.
The 11:05.69 is also the fastest distance medley relay time in the ACC this season. The time places the team as the fifth seed in the upcoming NCAA Indoor Championships to be held March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Ark.
