Boston College freshman goaltender Parker Milner has earned Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week honors, according to a league announcement made on Monday.
Milner recorded 51 saves on 52 shots (.980 save percentage) in league victories over Merrimack and Massachusetts last week. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound freshman tallied 17 saves in 55:12 of a 7-0 home win over the Warriors (Feb. 23), then registered 34 saves in a 2-1 overtime victory over the Minutemen (Feb. 26).

The honor marks the second time this season that Milner has earned league weekly distinction, having previously captured Hockey East Rookie of the Week laurels on Dec. 7.
Boston College, which has clinched quarterfinal home ice for the upcoming league playoffs (March 12-14) and is in second place in the Hockey East standings, will face league-leading New Hampshire in two games this weekend. The Eagles enter the weekend series with New Hampshire trailing by three points.
The Eagles, who are ranked fifth in both national polls released earlier on Monday, will play the Wildcats in Durham, N.H., on Friday, March 5 on NESN (7:30 p.m.) and will return to Chestnut Hill, Mass., for the regular-season finale on Saturday, March 6.
