The Boston College women's hockey team fell to Connecticut, 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Storrs, Connecticut.
The Eagles moved to 5-15-9 on the season while the Huskies improved to 18-6-5.
The two teams skated evenly with one another for the first period with neither team being able to grab the lead. The Huskies put 10 shots on net while BC managed only six. Both goaltenders stood their ground and the two teams were scoreless heading into the first intermission.
The Eagles battled hard to grab the lead but it would be the Huskies who would score the first goal of the game at the 6:23 mark of the period. BC was unable to contain UConn as the Huskies tallied two more scores, one at the 12:25 mark and another at 14:11, to make it 3-0 going into the third period.
Boston College found its stride at the 14:46 mark of the third period as freshmen Caitlin Walsh and Kristina Brown fed sophomore Mary Restuccia while on the power-play for her seventh goal of the season. That would be all the scoring for the game as the Huskies would go on to win, 3-1.
Freshman goalie Corinne Boyles made 31 saves on the day as the Huskies outshot the Eagles, 34-25.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday evening when they will take on Boston University at 5:00 p.m. in the consolation game of the 2010 Beanpot at Harvard.
