PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The Boston College women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to No. 63 Brown at Pizzitola Center courts on Thursday evening.
The loss drops the Eagles to 1-3 overall, while the win improves the Bears to 2-1 for the season.
Brown took the first point of the match by winning two of the three doubles matches. The doubles team of junior Katharine Attwell and senior Brittany Delaney gutted out a tough 8-4 win at the number two doubles spot for the Eagles. The duo is now 3-0 on the year at the number two doubles spot.
In singles play, Attwell continued her sold play as she picked up the only singles victory for the Eagles as she took down Marisa Schonfeld at the number four spot by the score of 6-2, 6-3. Attwell has now won six consecutive matches including doubles and singles action.
Freshman Alex Kelleher put up a good effort against nationally ranked No. 89 Cassandra Herzberg in number one singles action but couldn't pull off the upset losing 6-2, 6-3.
The Eagles will be back in action on Friday, February 5 as they will host Memphis. The match will start at 4 p.m.
