Women's Track Competes In Valentine Invitational

Boston, Mass. - The Boston College women's track team competed in the Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday on the campus of Boston University at the Indoor Track and Tennis Center. The Eagles had one individual win, and six top-five finishes.
Junior Caroline King provided the only individual victory of the day for Boston College as she won the one mile run with a time of 4:41.33. King has now won an event in each of the last four meets Boston College has competed in. Her time of 4:41.33 is the second fastest indoor mile time in the ACC this season, and it is also the second fastest indoor mile time in Boston College history. The BC record is held by Angie Graham in 1997 with a time of 4:37.52.
Sophomore Anna Cioffredi finished in second place in the 500m dash with a time of 1:14.98. Cioffredi's teammate senior Meaghan Callahan took home a top-five finish as well in the 500m finishing in fourth with a time of 1:16.63.
Senior captain Caitlin Bailey also had a solid day by finishing in fourth place in the 800m run with a time of 2:09.38.
Kelsey Huckins picked up a top-five finish of her own by finishing third in the weight throw. She set a new personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 17.58m.
The Eagles will have some time off to help gear up for the ACC Indoor Championships which will be held on the campus of Virginia Tech on February 25 and 26.
