Women's Hockey Tops Maine, 4-1

The Boston College women's hockey team defeated Maine, 4-1 on Saturday afternoon at the Alfond Sports Arena in Orono, Maine.
The Eagles are now 7-15-10 while the Black Bears fall to 6-18-5.
Maine would grab the initial edge in the contest as the Black Bears managed to net a goal at 8:08 of the first, but the Eagles would come soaring back in the second period.
Freshman Caitlin Walsh notched her sixth goal of the season at 3:04 of the middle frame off assists from sophomore Mary Restuccia and freshman Ashley Motherwell. Senior Allie Thunstrom would tally the go ahead goal just less than four minutes later thanks to freshman Kristina Brown's fifth assist of the season.
Restuccia scored a late goal at 19:41 of the second period with Motherwell tallying her second assist on the day and sophomore Alison Szlosek's adding her seventh assist of the year. Restuccia later put home a short-handed, empty net score at 3:29 of the third period to seal the victory for the Eagles.
Sophomore goalie Kiera Kingston made 36 saves on the afternoon as the Black Bears outshot the Eagles, 37-23.
Today's contest was junior assistant captain Katelyn Kurth's 100th game with Boston College.
The Eagles will return to the ice next Saturday when they will travel to take on the University of New Hampshire at 2:00 p.m.
