Men's Soccer Earns 2-1 Win At Hartford

Edvin Worley and Charlie Rugg each scored once as Boston College won its third consecutive match with a 2-1 non-league win at Hartford before 907 fans at Al-Marzook Field.
BC (4-3-0) defeated Fairfield and No. 14 Boston University last week and will host 12th-ranked Duke on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in the team's first home Atlantic Coast Conference match.
Worley (1 goal, 1 assist), who lifted BC to a 1-0 win over No. 14 Boston University on Friday, scored his second goal in as many games to give the visiting Eagles a one-goal advantage at 51:41. The sophomore midfielder has two goals and one assist in the team's last three victories.
Rugg notched the decisive score - his third in the last three matches - in the 59th minute. The Roslindale, Mass., resident, beat Hartford goalkeeper Nanad Cudic (four saves) at 58:40.
The host Hawks (3-2-1) halved BC's lead just 23 seconds later on Carlos Villa's third goal of the season at 59:03.
BC freshman goalkeeper Justin Luthy registered season-high 10 saves in the match.
A total of 23 fouls were called in the game, including 16 on Boston College.
The Hawks registered 21 shots, including 15 shots on Luthy's goal.
Next, BC hosts ACC foe Duke on Friday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.
