
Volleyball Completes Tournament With 3-1 Win Over Fordham

BUFFALO, New York. - The Boston College volleyball team finished a successful weekend tournament by beating the Fordham University Rams, 3-1 at Alumni Arena in Buffalo, New York.
With the win, the Eagles improved their record to 2-1 on the season while the Rams fell to 1-2.
BC came into its second match of the day with plenty of confidence after knocking off Seton Hall in an intense, 3-2 win this morning. The Eagles utilized their momentum very effectively during the first two sets, tallying a combined total of 28 kills and only two errors on their way to earning a 25-20 win in the first set and a 25-13 in the second.
Fordham provided some resistance in the third set, capitalizing on BC's .093 hitting percentage during the Rams' 25-19 third set win.
Despite their falter, the Eagles were ready to bounce back and finish what they had started in the first two sets. After 14 more kills and a fourth set hitting percentage of .367, BC was able to finalize its victory over Fordham with a 25-16 win in the final frame.
Once again, sophomore Mollie Kolosky led the offense with 14 kills while senior Taylor Williams and junior Melanie Cimino had 11 each. Freshman Krissy Mussenden continued to make her presence known by chipping in with 35 assists.
Sophomore Brennan Clark added 22 digs on defense while junior Kristen Baader had 11 of her own and Mussenden followed suit with 13.
Boston College will return to the Empire State next Friday, September 4, to compete in another tournament where they will take on St. John's at 8:00 p.m. in Jamaica, New York.
